End of Life Doulas
What is an End-of-Life Doula?
End-of-life doulas provide non-medical, holistic support for people who are nearing the end of life and their loved ones.
They walk alongside individuals and families during the final months, weeks, or days of life, offering emotional, spiritual, and practical care.
They are calm, steady companions who hold space for reflection, grief, celebration, and everything in between.
End-of-life doulas help make death a little less scary and a little more human. Whether you’re planning ahead, caring for someone you love, or moving through loss, a doula can be part of your support system.
You don’t have to do this alone.
Here’s a great article written by Julia Brough- EOLRI co-founder.
What They Do:
Offer emotional and spiritual support during the dying process
Create personalized plans that honor a person’s values and wishes
Sit vigil in the final days to bring comfort and presence
Guide legacy and memory-making projects
Support loved ones through grief and after death
Provide education around death and dying
Create space for honest, community-centered conversations about death
What They Don’t Do:
They don’t provide medical care or make clinical decisions
They aren’t therapists, though they offer deep listening and comfort

Welcome to The Purple Priestess, where souls find solace. We do death differently, continue our conversations, and turn loss into transformation. I am Rev. Katina Z. Jones, B., Msc., and I am honored to guide you on your sacred journey through death and grief. 🌟 My Own Journey: My path has been woven with threads of compassion, wisdom, and reverence for life. As a certified Doulagiver™ Care Consultant and an end-of-life doula, I have stood at the threshold of existence, witnessing both the fragility and resilience of the human spirit. Through countless moments of connection, I’ve learned that life’s most profound transitions are not merely about crossing thresholds; they are about embracing transformation.
